Film Grant For Woman Directors & casting call

Film Grant for Woman Directors. If you'd like to support me on my journey and be part of my team as mentoring director, producer let me know. I am always open for cast & crew. Writers with great stories are welcome for both TV & Film. Must be low budget and genre based.


The state of things for female directors in Hollywood may be looking bleak, but one organization is looking to make a difference on the indie side. Check out a candidate female director who placed Top 50 in the Project Green Light contest:

The San Francisco Film Society has just launched the SFFS Women Filmmaker Fellowship, a new suite of services that will support female writer/directors working on their second or third narrative feature with financial backing, programs and events, mentorship services, industry connections and more.

Backed by the Kenneth Rainin Foundation and facilitated by SFFS' Filmmaker360, this fellowship will provide direct assistance to an underserved group of storytellers and help build sustainable careers for women filmmakers everywhere. Also, the fellowship will give priority to projects in the under-represented genres of sci-fi, comedy, action, thriller and horror.
Participants in the SFFS Women Filmmaker Fellowship must working on a second or third English-language narrative feature screenplay budgeted at no more than $3 million. Fellows must also have had a previous film premiere at a major international festival.
Applications will open in winter 2016. The fellowships will take place from April to October each year, overlapping with the Film Society’s San Francisco International Film Festival (April 23–May 7). Program support includes:
•     A $25,000–$40,000 cash grant, which must be used for living expenses. Individual amounts depend on place of residence and estimated travel costs to participate in Bay Area fellowship components.
•     Placement in FilmHouse Residency program and access to all FilmHouse programs and activities.
•     One-on-one consultation with film industry experts from the Bay Area and beyond regarding casting, 
financing, budgeting, legal issues, distribution and other relevant topics.
•     Weekly one-on-one consultation services provided by Filmmaker360 staff, with feedback on screenplays, verbal pitch strategies and written materials such as synopsis and treatment.
•     Presentations and networking opportunities with Bay Area narrative filmmakers.
•     Expenses covered for one 3-day networking trip with a Filmmaker360 staff member from San Francisco to Los Angeles, for meetings with established industry professionals.

TV Series Concept Submissions Grant

We are accepting submissions for a TV series concept: If you have a smart, cinematic, serialized comedy series for adults. They can even be dark comedies, genre comedies or dramedies as long as they have original and compelling concepts and characters. 


Think high budget, premium shows that that you might see on pay cable (or that might even feel like movies). We tend to like shows that take place in specific, unique worlds.
Pilot scripts can be live action or animated and should be under 30 minutes long. We encourage single-cam scripts to be under 36 single-spaced pages.
$10,000 option extension if we put your project on our Development Slate. $55,000 if we distribute it as a series

TV Comedy series proposal must include a pilot script. This should be the series at its best, but not necessarily an origin story. We encourage single-cam (single-spaced) scripts to be 36 pages or fewer; multi-cam (double-spaced) scripts, 54 pages or fewer.
TV Children's series proposal must include a mini-bible. This should describe the series in general, and its main characters; tell where the series is going and whether episodes are serial or standalone; and include five or six episode ideas. We encourage mini-bibles to be between two and six pages.
All submissions should be in standard script format, with Courier 12-point font and standard script margins. Here are some general guidelines:
  • Page size: 8-1/2 by 11 inches
  • Page margins: No less than 1.5 inches (left) and 1 inch (right, top, bottom)
  • Scene heading (slugline): 1.5-2 inches
  • Action: 1.5-2 inches
  • Dialogue: 2.5-3 inches
  • Character names: centered
Dialogue should be single spaced for single-camera series or double spaced for multi-camera series. For single-cam, we encourage scripts to be 36 pages or fewer; for multi-cam, 54 pages or fewer.

script submission is between 110 and 135 pages using Courier 12-point font and standard script margins. Here are some general guidelines:

Sloan Filmmaker Fund Grant


The Sloan Filmmaker fund is a grant for innovative and narrative features. They must integrate science, math and technology themes in the film.. Films can be in any phase and based anywhere.
Grants: $10,000 -$75,000 range.  Directors and filmmakers start with a great story. Is your story ready?
