Crowd Funding Your Movie: Social Media Groups to Help Your Project Succeed

So what is crowd funding, Indiegogo or Kick Starter? Free money for films?
Most people  are now using crowdfunding to help make movies, web series, TV or film pilots, music albuns,
books and even start up business.
So how can you be successful?
Here are some great social groups to attract investors and fans for the success of your projects:
Like any start up the more money you invest the more likely investors will want to put their money into your project. The more credits you have as having completed a project the higher chances that someone will want to invest in you to support you. Investors want to know if they fund your project it will be completed.
For films investors might like: comic books, movies based on books, producers who have produced before, fan based projects and great screenplays. It is true people who have a track record of producing, directing and acting have a higher chance to succeed because they have fan base already and they can get support easier.
But, if you really have something that people like from a graphic novel, new clothing line, great screenplay, great product, amazing singer you just might find your own audience who supports you to succeed. Usually signed copies of posters, artwork, t-shirts, hats, walk on roles, premier invite are extra incentives to attract investors.  But if you have a solid team: producer, director, actor, crew, screenplay with a great foundation "the product" it can succeed.
It does take a lot of work and time to promote, network and use social media to find your audience out there.  Some social media sites to support Crowd Funding projects are:

Game Of Thrones: Costumes, Designs & Props

HBO's hit TV series "Game Of Thrones" is catching the public by fire. George RR Martin's fantasy book series "A Song Of Fire & Ice" is a cultural phenomenon. Some of the wonderful things you can see at the exhibit in New York are the hand made costumes, individual embroidery, fine details and skills that seem to be a tradition of a Kingly Kingdom.
If you didn't get to go to the exhibit here are some photos to view and take a tour on my blog. Enjoy.
In the first season episodes Cersie Lannister had sweet birds which evolved into lions on her gowns in later episodes.

This is Cersei's gown which is done by Michele Carragher who embroiders fine bird details on the costumes by hand.
Dressing up is fun. Who do you want to play? If you go to the Venice Ball these outfits are great.  From left to right: Outfit worn by Joffrey Baratheon; the blonde boy who becomes King after the death of his father in a supposedly hunting accident.  a gown worn by Cersei Lannister, the mean blonde girl; Tywin Lannister’s armor; Tyrion Lannister’s armor; Jamie Lannister’s armor- the King Slayer.

What is the favorite color for royalty? Purple. Magnificent, deep purple.Almost all of the costumes are made for "Game Of Thrones" by Titanci Studios in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The fabric is even created just for the show. A loom is used to weave the fabric. Recognize this outfit? Our blonde boy, King Geoffrey who likes to play with automatic bows on girls.

Daenerys Targaryen is on the other side of the world gathering a army, growing dragons and sailing to take back her rightful heir as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Her costumes reflect her growing confidence.
Emilia Clarke the plays the Mother of Dragons.

Armor is expensive to make and that is why it looks so real and has a special effect creating this real Kingdom with authentic believe in The Hand of the King, Tywin Lannister's armor.

Girl armor is a little bit different as in tiny as they normally didn't fight on battle grounds just in the court with secrets, spies, betrayal, backstabbing and calculating alliances. Or could just be a nice metal belt with coat of arms design.

The Night's Watch cool treads. Costume designers paint wax onto the fabric to create the snow-worn look. Got to keep out the dead walkers.

The glamorous and beautiful costumes for the Lannister's are the envy of the Stark's who have a subdued look! The Stark's costumes created by Michele Clapton reflect the harsh, practical nature of the life in the North.

The Nights Watch. Wax is painted on costumes to create snow worn look.

Some of the characters who are on the ice cold snowy mountain side by the wall have cool boots that might set a new trend for Ugg boot makers. No? Ok just if you play a character on the show. Ygritte's boot the red head who falls for John Snow after he captures her. The detail on back are antlers near the crampons.

Sansa Stark her gowns and beautiful embordirey accents.

Cersei Lannister costumes are exquisite with fine hand embroidered detail.

Sweet bird details but be careful she just might strangle you in your sleep.
Things that the Momma Stark gets to wear. Fish collar! Do you think this will be a new fashion trend? Well we will miss you Catlyn Stark as the red wedding was not a happy fairy tale ending.

At least Sansa has a lovely flower gown as new wife of  Tyrion Lannister. She just has no luck. She should have left with little finger on the boat and escaped. Do you think she'll revenge her father's death and get Geoffrey or stay the quiet little flower?
The famous chair that the King of the moment sits in. It is full of knife like swords. Be careful to watch your back and head when you are the King or Queen.

To create this special world you need: crowns, diamonds, purses, jewels, pot of wild fire, authentic looking books and rubber fish.

What is your favorite costume and who is your favorite character? Who do you think gets it next?  Season 4 will be amazing. Thanks George RR Martin for creating exciting books, characters and stories.

How To Get A Good Agent

A agent needs a great head shot and needs the actor to be confident. Confidence is a major factor when you audition in front of producers and studio network executives.
1.Find a great photographer at LACasting.com under services. Go through the photos and pick the photographer who knows how to shoot a great drama and commercial head shot.
Dana Patrick is a well liked photographer
James at FailSafephotography.com is a great photographer as well.
2. Work on your craft. Top 5 Acting Schools that are great:
Larry Moss at Edgemar Studo in Venice is great.
Tell Michelle Danner I sent you.
Ivana Chubbuck is great.
Adam Lazarer White is fantastic!!! http://www.adamlazarre-white.com/
Howard Fine HowardFine.com is wonderful
Margie Haber
Playhouse West Acting School Jeff Goldblum's acting school
Will Wallace a hidden class with real actor teaching film techniques
Joanne Barron/DW Brown Meisner class

3. Meet Casting Directors and Agents at professional events like:
TheActorsInterview.com tell Joe I sent you.
TheActorsCompany.com tell Daniel I sent you.
TheNetWorkStudio.com tell Jenny, Melissa & Tim I sent you.
TheActorsAdvantage.com
You can do showcases to meet both agents and managers.
Pick a great TV scene that showcases who you are and how you can be easily casted.
Market yourself. Are you a Mom, Doctor, Lawyer, Detective, Nurse, Housewife, Senator's Wife, Nerd, Computer tech, jock, teen, assistant DA or lead.
Leads: must look like a lead which means working out and looking like you can carry a 2 hour movie or hour TV show.

4. Enter TV show contests for exposure and marketing.
Shows like American Idol, The Glee Project and any online movie audition are really to introduce you to an audience that will get to know you and like you.

5. Mail your head shots in clear envelops to agents with short cover letter.
Many agents have open casting calls. Always call to make sure when before you go or look on line.
Daniel Hoff Agency West Hollywood has open casting 2-3 on Fridays
The Jack Lipman Agency Beverly Hills has open casting 10-12 weekdays.
The Polygon Group Burbank has open casting on Wednesday 1-3.
The Brogan Agency Venice has open casting on Wednesday 3-5.
Always ask other actors for referrals that you meet.
Actors should be other actors best friends as they could refer you to a agent or job.

6. Casting Directors usually like a post card which says that you are on a show or update your agent information. But they prefer mail only when it is for a specific role that they are currently casting.

7. Luck and persistence usually is the old fashion tools for success.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Don't forget to check out my movie audition and let me know what you think!!! lol

Inside Experience Movie Casting Call

I just audition for a movie starring Emmy Rossum using social media youtube. My acting scene will be looked at by director DJ Caruso. The audience helps to select a unknown to be in the film by viewing their favorite contestants. View me here:
http://theinsideexperience.com/#/gallery/nad4VtScIvs

Do you want to audition for the film?
You simply pick a script. Learn the lines. Tape your scene. Upload to youtube. Copy your unique user link to contest site. Enter by following rules. This is a lot better than standing in line outside in the heat and waiting a full day to read for one open role. Trust me.

Now, people will view your taped scene against all the other actors so being a social wiz is a must and having lots of friends is even better. I wish I was Lady Ga Ga or Mark Zuckerberg right now as I would have lots of followers, too. Okay, maybe I don't wish I was a guy but you know what I mean-they have more than enough friends.

So, if you viewed my profiled and liked it Thank you. You are awesome. I hope that I win so I can start working and leave my high paying wonderful day job behind!!!

Oh, this is my link so you can let me know how you think I did.

Star Pop Ups at Night

It never fails to amaze oneself when you see stars at night in LA. Oh... I meant in the sky-- but you're probably wondering what star I saw. Well.....I'll tell you. Jeff Goldblum and Kevin Spacey. What? Where you ask?
First I went out to happy hour at the famed Le Bohe'me in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd. The usual suspects were there: actors, writers, film makers and the artists who you have yet to learn our names. An actor parading as a waiter enticed us to try a delicious sampling of fillet Mignon tacos, duck quesadilla and bacon wrapped dates. He was so good in "sells" that we tried both the orange margarita and raspberry white Godiva martinis which set the mood to enjoy the night.
When the sun went down we headed to Cafe Was in Hollywood on Sunset at Vine. No one goes out till it's dark in Los Angeles. Vampires mostly, creatures of the dark. O.k. stars need dark to show up!
We pulled up to the joint and entered as the paparazzi were waiting outside like buzzards circling for their crumbs. They flashed their bulbs as we starlets went into Was. The placed was packed with Hollywood hipsters. (411= people dressed in a casual creative way to sport good will mixed with designer wear) Everyone was enjoying the jazz tunes of none other than Mr. Jurassic Park himself, Jeff Goldblum. Jeff (were friends like that) played the piano as a group of really sheik 20's flappers crossed with Melrose/punk danced with each other and wrapped each other up in a pearl necklace. It was long, really long.

Jeff knew how to play up to the crowd. He has star power and is very handsome in a Buddy Holidayish vibe. He wears the rims well. rims=spectacles, glasses, eye wear. My friend Cristianne Miranda got to do a solo song with JBlum. She seemed to raise the roof as she belted out a jazz tune. Other girls popped up to sing along as Jeff and his band Mildred Snitzer played music. But when Kevin Spacey popped up to sing it was like a shooting star bursting on stage. Kevin was a very pleasant surprise to the crowd. KSpace was quite good and I'm sure he has a album coming out. I'm that confident in his skills.

I was enjoying dreamy KSpace as a director/writer guy who said he had to get his script to Spacey said hello to me. 411 You'll always meet a guy who knows the Spacey's and has a movie deal at a studio. It's part of your alluring charm as a actor to attract the real "producers" in LA. He the "producer" wants me to read for him but first I should have dinner with him. Huh? Dinner before acting? Never, I'm full from happy hour. Call my agent and book me. I'm friends with Tarrentino, you know. (The old throw out a big name. Everyone does it.) Friend=someone you know their name in LA. I do know him from watching his movies. Duh? And, I met him while serving up a baked chicken. So I can use the word "friend" technically now. Well, I'll have to tell you about that adventure next time.

I got a acting class on Saturday with a big casting director. So see you at the movies. who knows I just might pop as a break out star by then.

lol
